The videos listed here are targeted for programmers developing apps (applications) for Android and was originally produced during the development stages of Android back in 2008. This was prior to the release of the first Android phone. However these short videos are excellent in showing anyone, regardless of technical background, the features and potential of the Android phones.

A must see video for everyone. Android allow developers/programmers to develop apps (applications) in what is known as "application without borders". Good overview of Android’s capabilities. Also shows QR code scanning.

A  47 second video showing a whole new way of locking and unlocking your phone without using a password. A good one hand operation example.

Another short 1 minute video showing multitasking capability. Demonstrating background services running in parallel:

A two minute video called ‘Introducing Android’. Show how and why Android was created. Video dated November 05, 2007, the day Google announced Android distribution with the founding of the Open Handset Alliance.

A 4.5 minutes video introducing the Android Open Source Project. The first minute is non-technical but the rest is. It also cover some basic technical details on the structure of Android. Android was built using many open source libraries.

This 2 minute video shows Android’s multi-touch screen capability. Multi-touch is native to Android but disabled. The beauty of open source is “the ability to have your cellphone do whatever the heck you want it do”.
